Shockwave Flash needs to be installed in web browsers so that users can easily access videos, flash games, etc, but the users get highly annoyed when they are not able to play videos online, which happens due to shockwave flash crash. This is very common issue and many users deal with it because it occurs in almost every browser. Therefore, there are four steps that people need to follow in order to avoid this situation.

  • You need to make sure that your browser’s history is clear. People are so busy in their daily work they do online that they do not realize that all the websites they log onto, are being stored in their browser’s history.  The large amount of data being stored in the browser’s history and cache can be one of the major reasons, which causes the crash. For this, users need to keep clearing their browser’s history at any given time period. This can easily be done by clicking on internet explorer, selecting the option of “tools” in the menu bar, going to internet options”, clicking on “delete” under browser history, clicking on delete again in order to make sure the process is confirmed and lastly, click ‘OK’.
  • Shockwave flash crash can also occur if the Bluetooth is handling video streaming on your browser.  To overcome this issue, you need to delete a file named BtwVdpCapFilter1.dll. Once this file is deleted, the issue will be resolved. This file can be easily deleted by logging onto C:WindowsSystem32 folder, search for the BtwVdpCapFilter1.dll file, select it and then delete it.
  • If the windows registry is corrupt, it may result into a lot of issues. For this reason, you need to make your windows registry is clean. However, this process may lead to the loss of data, if done manually, because it is very risky. So there is a need for installing a better system utilities program which has a registry cleaner which automatically scans and repairs registry.
  • The crash can also be the result of some installed files of a program which get corrupted due to a virus. For this, you need to re-install the flash plugin by opening control panel, clicking on programs and features, selecting Adobe flash player plug-in and uninstalling it. Once the uninstallation has been done, you just need to restart your computer and install the flash plug-in.

The above-mentioned methods can be easily implemented and can help you resolve the issue of shockwave flash crash.
